Ron Reino's Story
Were you really once the Mayor Of Luzerne? There is plenty of diversity in my career: newspaper, television and poltics. Yes, I was the Mayor of Luzerne, but I'm sure I can't get you out of a parking ticket.
How long have you been with Rock 107 I was here before Daniels and Webster! I had a part-time weekend job at Rock 107 in 1982 & 1983, right out of college. My current "weekend warrior" run kicked off in March 1996. It's all about staff chemistry both behind the scenes and on the microphone. That's the reason I'm here! If it ever stops being fun, then I guess I'll play more golf.
What are some of your favorite Rock 107 moments? Pretending to be with the crew of the Vapors ("Turning Japanese") at Market Street Square in 1982. My friend Danny and I hung out in those delightful train boxcars with the band. Also, meeting Brad Delp and Tom Scholz of Boston at a Rock 107 after concert party at Montage, and catching a personalized Sammy Hagar soundcheck with some Rock 107 listeners at Montage before his super electrifying show.
How many people have you maimed on the golf course? I like to play golf and have actually only hurt one person with a scorching line drive. Two others were lying about me hitting them.
What's your favorite food? I can eat pizza everyday...no onions please.
What other interest do you have besides radio? The Philadelphia Phillies have broken my heart 5,682 times...and I still love them.
