Mötley Crüe, one of the biggest names in heavy metal glam rock, is saying goodbye, “FOREVER.” “The Final Tour” featuring “the world’s most notorious rock band” will stop at The Great Allentown for a major concert event Wednesday, August 27. Joining the Crüe as its very special guest, shock rocker Alice Cooper will be part of what Crüe fans know will be a production of “epic” proportions.
“It’s only fitting the Crüe take a last bow at the Allentown Fairgrounds,” Bonnie Brosious, the fair’s marketing director and talent buyer, commented. She pointed to the band’s performance at the fairgrounds during a non fair summer concert in 1985 right after Mötley Crüe dropped its third album, “Theatre of Pain”—a recording that eventually went quadruple platinum selling copies years beyond its initial release. It contained hits “Smokin’ in the Boys Room” and “Home Sweet Home.” Both the album and ensuing tour established Mötley Crüe as a force in glam and heavy metal rock as well as in elaborate stage productions. Big hits like “Girls, Girls Girls,” “Dr. Feelgood” and “Without You,” followed.
Tickets for the show go on sale at the Fair Box Office and Ticketmaster online, phone and outlets.
Tickets are $90 for reserved seats on the track (floor) surrounding the stage extension; $75 for reserved seats in the covered grandstand and $45 for general admission grab seats on the track and in the grandstand.
